Palo Alto Jewish Community Blog
This blog will help us be united and will be a depository for news, Simchas (with pictures & videos), and events announcements. This will not replace the already existing mailing lists but will be a medium for us all to connect together on the net. This blog is, in a way, a complement to the Chabad and the Emek Bracha mailing lists.

CAMPUS FOR JEWISH LIFE
The proposed Campus for Jewish Life at the old Sun campus on San Antonio and Charleston is now slated for a City Council hearing on September 11. Although no problems are anticipated, a large turnout at the hearing is always an effective way to show public support.
Also, emails are welcome. They can be sent to City Planner Steven Turner at [email protected]. Be sure to CC' our old friends Jim Baer at [email protected] and Shelley Hebert at [email protected].
KIRYAT SHMONA RELIEF EFFORTS
Kiryat Shmona, an impoverished city on Israel's northern border has been hit with over hundreds of rockets over the past month. The number of poor in the city, who have lost their jobs and sometimes all of their property due to the conflict, is huge. Many times, they can't even afford to buy food for their family.
Even though the fighting has stopped, the poor people of Kiryat Shmona still need to be fed. They need your help now more than ever.
Rabbi Tzippori runs a charity kitchen in Kiryat Shmona and he needs our help to actually feed thousands a day. His kitchen needs our financial support so that he may be able to continue feeding the increasing number of poor people in Kiryat Shmona in the months to come.
If you would like to give a donation, please make a check payable to Chabad Kiryat Shmona.
Send it to:

4157 Solana Drive

You will receive a receipt from Chabad for your tax deductible donation.
If you have any questions, please email Orna Morad at [email protected].

Bye bye Bronsteins...
Yes, the day finally came when they left
G.d willing, we will all follow them very soon. Meanwhile, here is their “see you all soon” message probably written last week:
A MESSAGE FROM THE BRONSTEINS:
BS"D
Greetings Everyone!
With G-d's help, we will be on our way to Israel next Wednesday. Our address there will be:
2/9 Nachal Maor
99623 Ramat Beit Shemesh
ISRAEL
My cell phone will work there initially until we get an Israeli number and a VoIP number. My cell phone is: 650-799-0625. I will using my new email, [email protected] much more consistently there, and hope to get up some digital photo capability (but don't hold your breath : )! On the one hand, Israel feels very far away, but with all this great technology, it is not so far after all.
Please know our home is open and we would love to offer hospitality to whoever ventures to that part of the world. Israel is an AMAZING place, and we would love to show it to you!
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer, and may all your families have a healthy, successful school year!
